In Need of Spring Break

Around these parts it's been raining up a storm.   We had a bit of lightening yesterday morning with the longest thunder known to man.   Honestly, I thought a small plane had crashed on the way to a nearby small craft airport.   When it finally stopped raining I carefully ventured forth to spy multiple puddles in our backyard.  You can only imagine what 8 paws can do with puddles and Georgia clay mud.   Three dog towels later we have a few dried paw prints in the Den.

Today's forecast was for 60's and sunshine.   It is chilly out and looks like snow weather with the gray overcast skies.    Don't know about you but I'm in sore need of some Spring time cheer.

Rainy Day Means Soup Is On.

It's been raining for a few days around here which always makes me want to play in the rain and make soup.    Decided it would be a perfect day for some hearty Tuscan Vegetable Soup.   Even got some freshly baked bread to go with it.


Oh almost forgot to mention,  I got a new toy!

Even added wireless to the house!  Who knew that could be so easy to do.  (Ignore the underline.   Can't make it stop)     So my little computer has been used all over the house mainly just because I can and it makes me smile.

Eye Candy Friday

Might not look like much to you but after having to be on crutches for almost 4 weeks it is a beautiful sight to me!   Now I just look like a Cowgirl that has been on a horse way to long.   Got the wide loping gait going on.

Moving Into Current Techno Age

There will be no pic's on this post.   Using The Man's                                 Mac Book Pro and well if you remember from Christmas time, me and the Mac don't get along so well and honestly I just am not going to give up 30 minutes of my free time just to post one photo even if I do currently have all the free time in the world.   If that wasn't enough the New Guy keeps gently putting his paw up on the keyboard.   Guess he has something to say but trust me he'd only lead you down a path full of mischief.    You can see it in his eyes.

The exciting thing for me is I'm writing this from  our porch with planes flying over, birds chirping up a storm and fat bumble bees flying around.   Decided to get with the current computer age and installed a wireless thingy today.   Now if I could just turn and put this laptop on the table I'd be a happier girl.   The Mac is still having it's difficult way with me.

Come Tuesday I'll be done, done, done with borrowing the Mac for my gleaming new blue Dell XPS laptop will be arriving.   I'll be blogging from all over the house just for the fun of it!

As for knitting,  been doing it in the sunshine and even have a quick tan happening.   Ah life is good folks.

Dr Ortho upgraded me to being able to put some weight on my left ankle!   By the end of next week, I get to "toss the crutches" and walk on my own.   What a good man he is!

Eye Candy Friday

Look what my sweet neighbor brought over to me last Friday.   Just in time for a little Saint Paddy's color.

So the guys around here have been a little busy and look what they happened to find.

Yep,  baby bunnies nest!    Can't tell here but there are actually two babies in there.   The Man didn't want to get to close in case Mom and Dad Bunny would abandon the babies if there was a human smell to the nest.   He told me they looked about the size that he could cradle in his hand.  Isn't it sweet looking!

Oh good news for me!   The Orthopedist told me I can start putting a little bit of weight on my left ankle now when I walk.  Honestly, you would have thought I had won the Lottery when he told me that.

Progress

This happened some time last night with Jon Stewart.

 I don't know about you but for me it was pretty damn exciting.   Yep, bound off the purple Disco Stole I've been working on for now what seems like forever.   Waiting to hear from back from Megan regarding fringe length.   Megan is the one that oh so innocently got me into this never ending stockinette knitting stole of mine.   I spied her knitting away on something lush, quizzed her to no end about it and then went to Knitch to check out the shop sample.                                                                                        

                         




                  

 Heaven but really what isn't heaven when it's knit out of Rowan Kid Silk Haze or as my knitting friends call it "crack". 

So the fringe will be the Disco part. 
Yeah, I know the colors don't look like they match here but trust me when I tell you the disco sparkle yarn is only a slightly darker and richer color of purple than the stole.   They are a match made in knitting heaven.

So will I wait for Fringe Input from the all knowing one.

Project X unveiled

 

Long ago somewhere in the vicinity of the end of Summer and Fall of 2008,  I was working on a secret project also known as Project X.   My friend Bekka was having T. Rex which turned into a lovely baby girl named Elsa.   But at the time of knitting Elsa was still T. Rex so I decided to abandon all babyish colors and go for fall colors for a baby blanket.

 

Let me tell ya you've got no idea how hard it is to post progress about a project without actually showing what the project is.   I really had to become creative with the photos.

Like all projects there came a time that no matter how much I was knitting the dang thing wasn't growing.   One night I must have knitted and measured for three hours to get this one inch.  But at least you can see how pretty the tweedy aspect of the yarn is in this picture.

Finally the blanket was finished but then I realized I couldn't blog about it.   That is the thing with surprise packages.   You can't really post when the surprise reads what you write.  But I did have a willing model when it was done.

 

Believed the blanket had some type of mojo action going on for Annie quickly became oh so sleepy during the photo shoot.

 

Pattern:  Big Bad Baby Blanket from Stitch N Bitch.
Yarn:  James C. Brett in Marble but can't remember the colorway.   It is acrylic yarn but the good kind.
