Gotta Knit!

New Idea

Reading through my e-mails always leads me to somewhere else which usually leads me to yet another somewhere else.

This time it lead me to Fran's 10 Minute rule which I think is a smart and easy rule to attempt to live with in my small knitting universe.  Just like ever other Knitter out there in the world I've got a few unfinished projects simmering away in drawers or knitting bags throughout the house.  Think I'll pick one or two that I have to knit 5-10 minutes on one of them every day.

This just might work!

Eye Candy Friday

I just love diving into my Farmer's Box from my local CSA.

 

Art-B-Que

Few Saturdays ago The Man and I had a date out at a local community (um maybe two miles away) Art, Bar-B-Que and Bands playing festival on a hot Saturday.

The Man was deep into the music.

there was even some dancing action.  He was a crowd favorite.   

But the other crowd favorite that got more of my attention.  What a doll baby!

There was also some really wonderful art at the festival.

                                                                   

Yarn Peeve

The good news is that inch I had?   Well it is no more.   Knitting merrily along, measure, remeasure and measure once again. 

Finally it is time for binding off.  Slow down, bind off in pattern making sure I've got the correct stitch.   I'm almost there.  Really I'm past the 3/4th stage of finishing the binding off.

THEN I SEE IT.

Insert your favorite choice words here.   You know the ones that come forth when you slam your finger in a drawer.   I promise you, I said all of your words for I am sure I would have made a Sailor blush at the moment in time.


My peeve is why do yarn companies do this?   It's not like a big ole industrial winding machine threw this knot together to make two yarns as one.   The knot had to be the making of human hands.  Which also brings me to the point of this is high quality luxury yarn not some ball from one of the Big Box store.  You'd think there would be more quality in what they put out.   The yarn was fabulous but have to tell you not even taking into account the frustration and time element of tinking back in BINDED OFF Friggin STITCHES for heavens sake but also the fact I had to unknit the row past that to add on the yarn at the edge what really peeved me was cutting that much yarn off as waste and the time I lost having to do all that!

Again I ask why would a high end luxury yarn maker do that?  



On the upside I was able to finish binding off fully last night.

Little Silliness with a Camera

The Man was sitting there in our office and asked me to come over with a Poodle and sit on his lap.  Silliness ensued.

Jack has not quite gotten the Art of Modeling down.

 

Gave up on the boy and called in Annie the professional model.

Perfect one shot gal that she is it totally worked.  If you look close to the left side you cane see Jack's eye as he worms into the photo.


and then there was The Man being silly which started the whole thing.

That inch?   It's still an inch.  

Wee bit of Slight News

Just a wee bit of slight breaking knitting news from my end. 

One more inch.

ONE MORE INCH PEOPLE.

I swear I just might do a dance when I finish binding off.

Oh did decide to start turning Jack into a Pirate.   

                                      

 He seems to be taking it well other than trying not to pose for the photo opportunity.

Got a New Toy

Have to wonder if there isn't a new gadget that comes along that I don't want.   Well I'm sure there most likely are but so many of them catch me smitten. 

 I saw this "Easy Bloom" garden gadget and instantly I HAD TO HAVE IT.   It's amazing or so they tell me.   You stick in your garden and 24 hours later you stick it in your computer and it magically tells you what to plant at the location.  It also can tell you how the current plants are doing in their location or if a plant needs to be watered.

The Man just laughed at me but I'll show him!   I'll have stuff living in the no man's land part of  our garden in no time at all.

Going on's around these here parts

The Man was a little busy (off getting his Golf on for 5 days)  this past  week so I've been The Handler for Poodles, Inc which has involved Summer Doggie Day Camp for a few days.  

Would love to show some of the pictures they took at Wagalot but until I purchase them, Wagalot owns the photos.  There is one of the boy were he is all teeth, tongue and little bit of nose.   What a great service it is to be able to drop your dogs off before work, be able to watch them on the web-feed during lunch (well that is I could have watched them on the web-feed if our computer security system at The  Big Hospital would have let me),  be able to purchase very affordable daily photos of Poodles, Inc, pick up two tired Poodles and more importantly have Annie and Jack be happy to be there when I  drop off.    Did I mention they also had free Starbucks coffee in the morning?   All and all it was a good week.

got a little knitting thrown in some evenings.   Down to two more skeins but doubtful I'll need much of the last skein.  

Off to purchase Jack a manly Man collar.  Thinking maybe a Pirate motif.

Eye Candy Friday

 

One of the best things about early Summer is the gentle sweetness in the air of my Gardenia bush.   My bush now has new blooms every morning when I look our bathroom window.   Love the pure white and the soft look of the petals.
