She really isn't this fuzzy in person!
Wow, from reading all the local knitting blogs and some out of town ones it seems like everyone had a great time with The Harlot! Have you checked out her "Atlanta Charm" post? She enjoyed Atlanta and loved Knitch! Told ya'll we had a serious Anthony fan club going on!
Thanks to Kim, my cousins took her recommendation and we all stayed at The Gaslight Inn. Must admit I was stunned at how nice and big our suite was. The kitchen in our suite was as big as my kitchen at home is. In all of my travels, this has to be one of the nicest places I have ever stayed and the owner and staff were super wonderful. Oh, must add the honeydew melon at breakfast was absolutely the best I've ever had. Check out Elizabeth's photos of her suite there to get a good idea of just how lovely this place is. She also has some good shots of knitters in the theater that I wasn't able to get since I was running around working it.
My main job was greeting folks as they came in, telling them where bathrooms etc were. Then my other job was making sure that anyone that had brought their own book for signing had this tiny dot placed on the bar code so June of Knitch would know not to ring up the book and try to charge them. Not a big deal if there were just a few people but when you are trying to get 700 knitters through a signing, you need the dots!
I swear I think I meet 650 of the 700 knitters. Been
looking at all the blog posts and I recognize just about every single
person on every single photo on every single blog.
Finally met several local bloggers in person! The photo quality isn't great because I had a few spare minutes here and there so had to snap the photos with telephoto lens.
The Divine Mouse! who I am sooooo glad I finally got to meet in person. She is so sweet and very artistic. Check out her store (on Esty) Mousie Masala.
Then there is the infamous Chicken Goddess! Have you ever met someone that you instantly click with and know you could have a lot of fun with? Well that was her. God help me if she and Hockey Mom ever kidnap me. I know I'll be blogging for bail money! but I will have had a damn good time though. My apologies, she really is not this grainy or speckled with red in real life.
Course the event would not be complete without HOCKEY MOM! a way cool chica I met a while back at Leigh Radford's knitting class. Yep, she was the one that kept making me laugh and I swear I thought I was going to be thrown out. Sandy is, hands down, one of my favorite new friends and knitting buddies. Always a delight to be around. She must be in deep serious knitting thoughts because she is always smiling or laughing.
Also met the famous Jen but she's looking a little possessed in the photo so figured bad photo posting karma would come back to bite me in the arse so to speak. Plus, she is quite lovely in person and not at all scary red eyed looking like she is in my shot. Did forget to tell her that I have a serious crush on her farm animals. Ya'll go by an send her some love. The one year anniversary of her mother's death is approaching and I personally know how hard that can be.
Oh, if your one of the rockin knitters that made a hat must tell you The Yarn Harlot loved them all. Evil Science Chick was the kind soul who was in charge of all the hats that were made. If you made a hat, I can assure The Yarn Harlot saw it and admired it. Ms Evil dumped out several on the table for the Harlot to check out. Stephanie then said she wanted to see the hats so Ms Evil dumped out more. At this point Stephanie jumped up grabbed the bottom of a large yard bag of hats and dumped them all out saying "I want to see all of the hats". Then Stephanie went through all of the hats checking them out and we all were "ahhing" at the little itty bitty hats in the group. Ya'll did a great job in the hat department!
Oh Jen is just to the left of the Harlot in this photo. See I told you she really is lovely to look at.
After all the knitters had left the last signing, Stephanie hung out with us, ate dinner (11:30ish) which was her idea to wait that long and just shot the breeze with us. Have to say, even with taking knitting out of the picture she is someone if I had just met that lived around here I would love to befriend her. Really cool, down to earth and damn funny to boot.
As for Kim of Knitch, ya'll seriously need to send a BIG FAT THANK YOU her way. You have no idea how much work went into just getting Jamie the Wonder Publicist to even take the time to consider Atlanta for the Yarn Harlot Tour. Then once it was agreed upon, Kim and the rest of Knitch worked like crazy to make sure it went smoothly and was a grand event for all.
Kudos to the Knitch Ladies! Bravo my dears. Ya'll ROCK!
You were so awesome to help out! It was a blast!
Um, believe me, if CG and I got you in trouble, we would get you right back out! It's our talent. Heh.

Actually, it's more a superpower than a talent. You can tell its a superpower because my eyes are glowing red, just like lasers.
Sorry you had no time to hang out, but it was really great of you to volunteer. I loved seeing you in person.
And I still want your hair.
