Ran away to the North Georgia Mountains this weekend with some girlfriends of mine. As much as I love the city, it is always grand to get away even if it is for a 3 day weekend.
We did much eating for it seems we all are darn good cooks! Much drinking of wine. I know you are stunned there! Watching of a certain SEC football game on Saturday. Course there was the separation of the the Bulldog and War Eagle fan during the game. At the beginning of the game there was a scream from the Bulldog fan about made me drop what I was cooking. I never knew football players wearing black jerseys for the first time was so exciting and it never became clear to me why Uga wasn't wearing one. Thank goodness the Bulldogs won because our host would have been in mourning for the rest of the weekend. If you think I jest you have never known a Southerner. They bleed their college colors. Our UGA fan has her dog trained to bark when she says "Go Dawgs" which I must admit, I loved it! By the way, Uga even has a movie about him.
Oh, we did have some boy company.
No Annie. She decided to keep her father company for the weekend.
the boys took me for a walk down the river pathway behind the cabin.
Oh, and there was some serious knitting going on with three of us.
I was tolling away on The Man's scarf which let me tell you when I am done with that puppy, he best be wearing it all the time including to sleep in! Had to do surgery on the dang thing again and that was before I had a glass of wine.
Remember I told you I'd was teaching a friend of mine the next step in knitting? Here is her Ombre blanket after only two weeks.
And our other friend aka War Eagle fan learned to knit on Saturday. I was very impressed with all the new ways she managed to make unusual mistakes. Can't tell you how many times I mumbled "I have no idea what you did" but managed to create some funky stitch to try to bring her scarf back in line.
I thought this was a hoot when I was leaving town on Sunday. They seem to take billboard advertising very seriously there.
Wow, what a great weekend! Loved the place you stayed at and the four legged boys are just so cute.
