The Yarn Harlot is coming to Knitch in Atlanta on April 6th. One of the
Yarn Harlot's community driven activities is collecting hats for the local
community that she is speaking in.
I'm helping my cousin Kathleen (Katknits58 on Ravelry) with the Atlanta
hat drive. After she had a discussion with Kim of Knitch fame, they
decided for us to collect chemo caps in honor of Ann, a former employee of
Knitch that passed away last year from cancer. If you did not know Ann, she
was a wonderful person who bravely fought her disease but lost her fight
several months after the Harlot's last visit here.
If your interested in helping out either bring the Chemo Cap the day of the
event or drop off at Knitch before. Do a search in the patterns section of
Ravelry if your a member and there are quite a few free patterns to pick from. Please
remember to choose washable SOFT yarn.
If you aren't on Ravelry yet go here, here, or here
Here's hoping we have a huge mound of Chemo Caps!
Good luck with the hat drive!

Wow! The Yarn Harlot coming to your area! I'm so jealous! I know knitters around there will come through with many hats. A few weeks ago, taking the train to Stitches West, knitters could be entered in a drawing while onboard if they knitted and donated a chemo hat. There were close to 500 knitters on the train and 370 hats were donated. Our border-less, fiber community is the best wherever you are in the country or world.
