Radio around Atlanta is lacking so if I'm not listening to NPR then it is the music stored on my iPhone for the long 6 mile drive to and from work. On the way home yesterday, I kept hitting the skip forward button on my iPhone with my music. Now I've got some good music on it but listening to jazz was not where I was at nor did I want to listen to the peppier music I'd already heard a few 100 times. Ended up driving home with the sound of silence. Well at least as silent as the world is on a late afternoon in a big city.
Once I was home doing stuff around the house I remembered I had recently downloaded a new podcast that had sounded really intriguing. Switched over to Celebrity Playlist Podcast and randomly picked Drew Barrymore and within a few minutes I was hooked.
So hooked in fact by the end of her podcast I had already purchased an album from The Walkman. Even had my earplugs in today at lunch listening to them.
The whole Celebrity Playlist Podcast thing was a lark on my part. There is a wide range of types of celebrities from Snoop Dogg, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, Clint Eastwood to Tom Jones. Each one talks about the groups, songs, etc of why they like the music and then you hear a long snippet of the music. Definitely long enough to know if you want to hear more of it. I see a lot of new music in my future!
