It all started 10 years ago give or take a few months. Was briefly living in an older apartment complex when I returned back from my short sojourn in Seattle. As in most apartment complex they have the laundry center. Easier to use the apartment washer and dryers on a Saturday afternoon than hang out for a few hours at the Laundromat. When I went to throw my clothes into the dryer I came upon certain items of my clothing that had been pulled out of the washing machine and laid on top of the machine. On the creep out factor it hit a solid 10 out of 10. From then on I was over at The Man's house doing my laundry. Which was really sweet of him being around that time we had had maybe 5 or so dates.
And that is how I met his Washer & Dryer that I have been involved with for 10 years. I lived with him at that other house for around 3ish years and then we found this home. By then the bloom had worn off having these washer and dryer in our home. When we were moving I did my best to talk him into us getting a new washer and dryer which was a no go. He was right with it being silly for us to spend money on a new washer and dryer when these worked perfectly fine.
Few years later we are visiting a friend's parents at there beach house. In there rather large pantry is a gorgeous washer and dryer. The evil green monster reared it's head and I wanted a new washer and dryer. It simmered for awhile (3 and 1/2 years) coming and going in a jealous force. Mind you all the while I was using our machine having the life beaten out of my clothes and at times pulling clothes that had rips in them.
Then two weeks ago on a Sunday we went to Home Depot to order new windows for the house. That is another story. We just happened to walk by (wink, wink) the section of washer and dryers. In my Southern girl ways, I told The Man "Oh lets just look at them to see what is out there!"
Instantly I fell in love. The Man did not pay much attention for his focus was on windows. I went home and researched the heck out of it. By Wedsnesday the Sales Woman and I were chatting up a storm while I ordered my Washer and Dryer.
When the phone rang bright and early at 6:40 a.m. this Saturday morning for our 7:30 deliver I jumped out of bed with great enthusiasm. Was waiting at our door with a cup of coffee when they pulled up. Once it was hooked up I had to read how to use the guys. The last pair we had only had two speeds and these babies have multiple speeds including manual and sensory levels. The washer will weigh the load and depending on what type of material it figures out how much water and time. Same thing for the dryer! They even do a happy little song when a load is done.
I am in love! By the end of Sunday there wasn't much left in the house to wash and dry. Annie and Jack were getting a little nervous!
Oh, they are gorgeous! No wonder you're so excited! Now, can I bring my laundry over to your house? ;)
